The shoe shine box below was built by a 12 year old using an old orange crate and he used it on Front Street in hartford for his shoe shine business in 1955, '56 and '57! Notice that to be a shoe shiner you needed a license from the City of Hartford as indicated by the plares on the side!

9-16-13: this pictures dates back to the beginning of the 1900's, probably 1904 or 1905. It was taken in Roccacasale (L'Aquila) and was given to me by Tony D'Eliseo whose grandfather is sitting second from left ! It may be the oldest actual picture I have been given so far!!!!!
