Umberto e’ uno dei pochissimi Siciliani che essendo nato a Rome, Georgia, USA nel Maggio 1928 e’ ritornato in Sicilia, Avola e Siracusa, dove e’ cresciuto, prima di ritornare negli Stati Uniti nel 1947 e dove risiede da allora.
Padre e Madre da Avola, emigrati negli stati uniti e basati a Rome in Georgia dove e’ nato Umberto e un altro dei tre fratelli, mentre altri 2 fratelli sono nati in Italia. La famiglia intera e ritornata in Italia in 1929 ed Umberto e’ ritornato negli Stati Uniti nel 1947dove e’ stato raggiunto dal suo fratello Attilio dopo diversi anni; due altri fratelli sono rimasti a Siracusa dove insegnavono Lettere e Matematica al Liceo Scientifico di Siracusa.
Umberto ha lavorato come Operatore di macchina di di fabbricazione ed e’ entrato nel club dei Canicattinesi da pochi anni.
Sposato ha tre figlie, 7 nipotini e due pronipoti.
Umberto is one of the few Sicilians who was born in Rome, Georgia, USA in May 1928.
Father and Mother from Avola, who emigrated to the United States and based in Rome, Georgia where Umberto and another of the four brothers were born, while the other 2 brothers were born in Italy. The whole family returned to Italy in 1929 and Umberto returned to the U.S. in 1947 where was joined by his brother Attilio after several year. Two other brothers were in Syracuse where they were teaching Arts and Mathematics at the High School.
Umberto has worked as a machine operator in manufacturing.
Married with three daughters, 7 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
These notes from 1951 were being thrown from airplanes near North Koreans and Chinese troops and were an incentive to surrender!

Umberto's uncle left Italy in 1909 for the USA but did not settle in Hartford but in far away Montana! In 1913, as recorded in the copy of this article from a local paper of those times ( 1913) , Joe Coco died at work when a boulder fell upon him!
