Casa Emigranti Italiani 

Born in Hartford's East Side, Checkers, as he is known to his friends, established himself as an outstanding baseball player with Hartford Public where he was inducted into its hall of fame. He had a tryout with Philadelphia but would eventually join the navy before returning home and starring as co-captain of the University of Hartford baseball team.

But Sebby's accomplishments were only starting. He married Eileen Gormley in 1962 and for a while was a salesman but would join the City of Hartford.

In 1981 Santiglia was chosen the Town Clerk  for the city of Hartford, the first Italian-American  ever to hold the job!
