Casa Emigranti Italiani 

In 2009 I  wrote a book, From Sicily to Connecticut, which recounts the first 20 years of his life in Sicily ( Canicattini Bagni) and the next 40 years in the Hartford area of Connecticut! I had developed an interest in examining the past which I had never had before and which I attribute, among other factors, to age!

In the winter of 2012 I stumbled upon the idea of creating this website, a virtual museum dedicated to immigrants from Italy to Connecticut, USA! Working very closely with my good friend Tomy Indomenico we have exceeded our expectations.

But even more important than just age was the birth of two grandchildren, Connor and Ethan, and my desire to leave them a recorded history of where we came from, how we grew up, the values that have helped us succeed and be good family members!

I have been overwhelmed by the desire of various individuals to contribute their stories and pictures to this effort: thank you so much! And I hope that as the years go by we continue to build upon the information we capture and make it available to all!



Nel 2009 Paul Pirrotta ha scritto un libro, Dalla Sicilia al Connecticut, che racconta i primi 20 anni della sua vita in Sicilia (Canicattini Bagni) e gli ultimi 40 anni nella zona di Hartford Connecticut! Ho sviluppato un interesse di esaminare il passato che non avevo mai avuto prima e che io attribuisco, tra gli altri fattori, l'età! 

Nell'inverno del 2012 ci siamo imbattuti nell'idea di creare questo sito web, un museo virtuale dedicato agli immigrati dal'Italia al Connecticut, Stati Uniti! Ho lavorato molto strettamente con il mio carissimo amico Gaetano Indomenico e i nostri obiettivi raggiunti hanno sorpassato il previsto.

Ma ancora più importante la nascita di due nipoti, Connor e Ethan, e il mio desiderio di lasciare loro una storia  da dove veniamo, come siamo cresciuti, i valori che ci hanno aiutato a insererci in America. 

Sono stato colpito dal desiderio di vari individui a contribuire a questo sforzo con le loro storie e le immagini : grazie mille! E spero che, come il passare degli anni si continua a costruire sulla base delle informazioni che cercheremo di acquisire e mettere a disposizione di tutti!
